As tennis season hits Australia’s sunny shores, two Accor hotels in Sydney are set to welcome some of the best players in the tennis world.
Pullman Sydney Hyde Park and Novotel Sydney Olympic Park have been appointed ‘Official Hotel of the Apia International Sydney’ by Tennis Australia. The all-star contingent including the likes of defending champion Juan Martin del Potro, French Open runner-up Simona Halep and Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova will be descending onto Sydney during the tournament that will run from Sunday 11 January to Saturday 17 January 2015.
Accor VP Operations NSW & ACT, Scott Boyes said, “Sydney is set to kick off the 2015 Australian tennis season and we are proud that Pullman Sydney Hyde Park and Novotel Sydney Olympic Park are at the heart of it all.”
“The hotels will ensure that the top players are provided a home away from home in the lead up to their matches with top quality accommodation as well as world-class hospitality.”
Apia International Sydney Tournament Director Alistair MacDonald warmly welcome the partnership saying, “The best players in the world are arriving in Sydney and our hotel partnership with Accor is a key attribute in attracting the best players to compete here.”
“As these are world-class players, they require world-class facilities including accommodation, when competing at our event. We know firsthand that the players are excited about this partnership and that they will be well looked after by the team at both Accor hotels.”
With 22 of the top 30 women players and six of the top 30 men coming to compete at the Apia International Sydney, tennis fever is set to hit Sydney in a big way. The city will showcase a festival of tennis in January with former world number ones Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt launching a new fast format of the game in a special exhibition match, and six of the greats also here to compete in the Legends event, including 17-time Grand Slam champion John McEnroe and Australian Davis Cup Captain Pat Rafter.
